My name is Marith and I’m 12 years old. Together with my parents, two sisters, and little brother, I live in IJsselmuiden. For the past four years, I’ve been a member of the Hanzeluiden scouting group in Kampen. There, I’ve learned a lot about teamwork, adventure, and independence. But now, I’m facing a new challenge: I’m currently saving up for a special trip to Poland.
In a few years, in 2027, I’ll be going to the World Scout Jamboree in Gdańsk! The World Scout Jamboree is a large international camp held every four years. Scouts from all over the world come together to camp, go on adventures, discover new cultures, and make new friends. It’s a once-in-a-lifetime experience for participants, and I’ll only get to be part of it once. That’s why I’m doing everything I can to make this special trip to Poland possible—and to turn it into an unforgettable adventure!
To raise enough money for this trip, I’ve already started saving. But it’s not easy, because I have to pay a large part of the camp fee myself. In total, it’s around €4000! The camp fee in the Netherlands is higher than in some other countries because the Netherlands is a wealthier country. This way, scouts from less privileged countries also get the chance to join the World Scout Jamboree.
That’s why I’m organizing all kinds of activities to raise enough money. I sell handmade items and plan other fun fundraising events. On my website, you can follow all my latest activities and see what I’m working on next.
I really hope you’ll help me make this dream come true—and that you’re just as excited as I am! Together, we can make sure I get to travel to Poland in 2027 and have an unforgettable time there. Thank you so much for your support!
With kind regards
Marith
